Parks and green spaces
Sandwell has some great parks. We've got flagship parks in each of our six main towns. Six of our parks have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award - the national standard for parks and green spaces that are welcoming, safe and well-maintained with strong community involvement.

Barnford Park is located in the heart of Oldbury. With beautiful parkland offering gentle walks, a maze area, children's play area, multi-use games area, community pavilion and grass sports pitches - there's something on offer for all ages to see and do.
The park offers a range of facilities including outdoor gym equipment, children's play area, multi-games area, tennis courts, a skate park area, bandstand, football and some great walking routes.
Dartmouth Park is a Grade II-listed park including a play area, ornamental lakes, gym equipment, floral displays, a splashpad, sensory garden and a community pavilion with viewing tower.
Haden Hill Park
Haden Hill Park is has a Victorian mansion and Tudor Hall set in a Victorian landscape offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The park is a popular venue for historical local events and environmental activities. It has children's play areas, bowling greens, ornamental lakes and formal garden areas.
This park provides an attractive gateway into Sandwell being located off the busy Hagley Road junction on the Birmingham border. Lightwoods is undergoing a £5.2m restoration project funded by the council, the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery (BIG).
Whether your interests lie in walking, birdwatching, sports or just being in the great outdoors, you are sure to find something to do in Sandwell Valley Country Park. It is an-award winning Green Flag park and a great place to spend the day.
Victoria Park is a popular local park with children's play areas, tennis courts, grass sports pitches for football and cricket, a skate park area, ornamental lake, gym equipment and wildflowers. It is a popular park for events and activities.
Smethwick's 100-acre, Green Flag award-winning community park is run by a Community Trust. The woods has some of the region's most beautiful woodland, offering nature walks, trails, a nine-hole golf course and free parking. Only three miles from the centre of Birmingham, it really is the perfect retreat.
