Come and walk with Pete the dinosaur

Staff and volunteers at the Manor House Museum are getting ready to travel back in time over 70 million years this weekend to the Jurassic period with a Dinosaur Take Over family fun day.

The event on Sunday 3rd June runs from 11am-3pm inside the museum and out in the grounds of this fantastic medieval manor house.

“We wanted to do something completely different said Abbey Butler, acting visitor Services officer, and travel back much further in time than we normally do for a really fun filled exciting day out for families.

“We hope visitors are ready to meet a real live dinosaur,” added Jane Hanney, museum services manager.

“Pete the Dinosaur will be here prowling the grounds and looking for small children to eat! His smaller cuter friends will be here too!”

Cabinet member Councillor Steve Trow said: “This is another interesting event being put on by our museum staff for local families.

“There will be lots of other activities including digging for fossils, hunting for bones and loads of archaeological fun. Young visitors can also enjoy our dinosaur craft and arts activities and trails.”

This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy dinosaurs on your doorstep and a great day out for the family.

Why not bring a picnic to enjoy in our grounds too. Entrance to the event is free but there is a charge for activities.

You can see Pete the dinosaur taking a walk.
