Kick off your shoes, sit back at home and enjoy live jazz in your living room as part of the annual Birmingham, Sandwell and Westside Jazz Festival 2020.
With Coronavirus resulting in the postponement of the 2020 event until 16-25th October, we thought it would be a shame not to have some great music to enjoy so this year we will be going virtual!
One of the hits of last year’s festival, the Jim Dandies consist of pianist Paolo Fornara, Alessandra Perozzo on vocals, washboard and kazoo, and Paolo Busatto on guitars, playing the swing, stride, hokum and boogie woogie of 1930s barrelhouses and juke joints.
Their performance will be streamed live from Central Library, West Bromwich on the evening of Saturday 24th October. So get comfy and chill, pour yourself a glass and tap your feet along to this amazing performance for free in the comfort of your own home.
The Jim Dandies were formed in 2018 out of the trio’s common love for American roots music. Look, sound and repertoire make the Jim Dandies a perfect photograph of what could be seen and felt in that old-time America at the start of the 20th century at the very beginnings of what would soon be called jazz.
The Jim Dandies’ festival appearances will coincide with the release of their latest album, The Hottest Girl in Town, on Big Bear Records.
