MANOR HOUSE ALIVE – Costumed characters bring the house to life

An event every day that begins at 11:00 am, repeating until 13th October 2019
Medieval Mayhem Weekend at Bromwich Hall – 12 & 13 October 11am-4pm. Join us at this fabulous medieval building as Buckingham’s Retinue re-enactment group bring the house to life as it might have been in the mid- 1400s. The year is 1469, Bromwich Manor is the property of William Frebody. His Lord is Sir Maurice Berkeley 3rd Baronet who owns Weoley Castle. Sir Maurice is raising troops to settle a dispute and is visiting Bromwich Manor to arrange for William to have his troops ready at the given date. So the household is out to impress!
learn about and see the demonstrations of archery and medieval fire power
head to the great hall to hear local court cases to be heard by the lord and to settle disputes – find out who has been wearing the wrong hat!
young visitors can join the knights’ School
see the lord served at the top table followed by the servants eating and then a talk about medieval food

learn about medieval hunting
enjoy the combat display with knights and soldiers
plus crafts and trails for young visitors to enjoy.
Our tearoom will be open for light snacks and cuppas.
