The Galton Valley and the Lions of the Great War site have both been awarded Green Flag status.
To celebrate the award the Discover Sandwell Team teamed up with the Canal & River Trust and representatives from the Guru Nanak Gurdwara for a one night only display of colour.
Green Flag Status, now into its third decades, is awarded to spaces that boast the highest possible environmental standards, are beautifully maintained and have excellent visitor facilities.
Councillor Maria Crompton, Deputy Leader for Sandwell Council said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has played a part in achieving this prestigious Green Flag Award.
“This is a very welcome addition to Sandwell’s ever-growing number of Green Flag-awarded green spaces- and it’s wonderful to have the anal recognised like this.”
