Sandwell Valley Country Park is the jewel in Sandwell’s crown. With 308 hectares of open countryside, Forge Mill Farm, Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre, Adventure Playground, Visitor Attractions, Heritage Sites and Monuments, Mountain Bike Tracks, Outdoor Sports Facilities, and Walking Routes for all ages and lots more.

Sandwell Valley Country Park includes four Local Nature Reserves, farmland, woodland, meadows, lakes, pools, marshes, streams, High Ropes Course, Cycle Hire, foot golf, Adventure Play Area, the River Tame, a Scheduled Monument, amenity grassland, crazy golf, tennis courts, Junior funfair, a water-based activity pool, access routes for walking, cycling and horse riding. Most of these facilities are freely accessible. Swan Pool is part of Sandwell Valley Country park and has a sailing club, triathlon training, wild swimming clubs, and fishing. Sandwell Valley Country Park is 308 hectares, but the area known locally as Sandwell Valley is approximately 760 hectares. This includes land leased for farming, horse grazing, and land under
the ownership of Birmingham City Council.

Plans for 2022

We have some exciting plans for improvements to the visitor experience at Sandwell Valley Country Park in 2022, with new visitor attractions, refreshed farm shops and food and drink, dog friendly facilities, and expansion to our Forge Mill Farm - and lots more. Sandwell Valley Country Park is relaunching in April 2022 with many if these improvements, with more to come throughout 2022 and 2023.
