"A stage is my ‘happy place’ and I love to perform so I can’t wait for shows and festivals to return. Despite the restrictions music and singing helped me through lockdown. Music has the power to transport you back in time to a happy memory or to improve your mood in a moment.
I chose to sing ‘Rainbow’ by country artist, Kacey Musgraves, as it is a song of hope and reassurance. I sang this song for my neighbours on our driveway as part of our VE Day celebrations in recognition and support of the amazing NHS and other key workers who had become our lockdown heroes with rainbow pictures in the windows behind and in the houses all around me. It was an experience I will never forget.
The pandemic has been a challenging time for us all and looking after our mental health has never been more important. I hope that the song’s soothing vibe and hopeful lyrics combined with the surrounding beauty of the park help you feel a sense of calm and hope for the future.
‘It will all be alright …’
